Hello Everyone. This is my first time posting on a site like this because this is my first time having fertility issues. A little about me: I'm married with a 2 and 1/2 year old son that was conceived without any intervention. My DH (31 y/o) and I (33 y/o) have been trying to get pregnant for about a year and a 1/2. I have unexplained infertility because both my DH and I came out great with our test results. I just completed my first round of Clomid (50 ML). I have an u/s in 2 days to see how large my eggs have become. I will then be instructed on when to take the HCG shot. I am anxious since this is my first time. I want to know if anyone has conceived on their first round of clomid/HCG/IUI? I am excited, but mainly anxious since I do not know what the future holds.

Okay. So, I went to see the fertility doctor to have a u/s to see how big my eggs have gotten. On the left side, there were about 4-5 eggs that were a good size. Unfortunately, there was not 1 egg on that side:( I was instructed to take the HCG shot on Saturday night at 10am and have my IUI done on Monday morning. I'm hoping that this works. When I first started talking about RE with my OB/GYN, I had no idea all that it entailed. I know that it may not work this time around, but I'm hoping that it does because I can see this becoming exhausting.

Hello, this is my frist time on a site like this, wasn't sure if it was right for me but after reading alot of other stories, I think I can share mine, I am 31 years old I have a 13 year old daughter I had her at 17, I was told at 15 that I had PCOS and that I wouldn't be able to have children so she is my angel, I have never had a normal period I'd be luckly to get it four times a year. I met my now husband when I was 25 and after a year together we wanted to try, I saw an obgyn and he gave me meds to help get my period we did that for awhile and nothing, so he put me on 50mg clomid I believe we did that 4 times with him and nothing, I gave up, we got married and wanted to try again so we asked to see a fertility spec. she put us on metformin right away and also started us on 100mg clomid, the metfomin has helped with my periods they have been normal for 8 months now, clomid is really hard on me. After 4 rounds of 100mg clomid after the day 23 blood work of the last one they told us they couldn't say forsure if it worked but by day 35 I still didn't have my period they did a pg test and we were pg, but lost the baby at 9 weeks, so after waiting the doctor was going to do the clomid at 100mg again for the 5 time I asked why, if its not working at 100mg lets up it and see so I am on day 8 of my cycle on day 3 of clomid,at 150mg and if it doesn't work this time I think we need to do something else I have read in some stories about some women getting shots as well as clomid that has never been offered to us. Is there anyone else who has done clomid as much???

Hello all.. In new to FF.. I have been trying to conceive for almost 1 yr. Seen Doctor yesterday and got prescribed with Clomiphene 50MG. Since its Hormone tablet, im afraid to take it. My friend was using some hormonal tablets and she got lot of sideeffects like mood swing, fatigue, vomiting, depression. Also read in a website about its sideeffects (, there is a whole lot of it. I'm scared to take it.
Does taking Clomiphene really helps in getting pregnant?

Abbey, I've never taken that particular hormone but Im currently on oral hormone Letrizole and injectibles Gonal F.. I haven't had anything TOO bad.. but yes.. there are some of all of those things that come along with it.. .... well not the vomiting for me anyways.. for me the whole process though is kind of an up and down as it is so it's hard to say if it's really the hormones or the wondering, waiting, hoping.. then the disappointment when it doesn't work. I'm doing the IUI procedure and we are in the process of getting ready for our second one as the first one was not sucessful. Hoping you have some luck in your TTC process!!
