KTL - I too have to use frozen sperm. How many IUIs have you had and how many resulted in pregnancy? I am really concerned that I may not be able to afford to conceive with frozen sperm since it is so expensive per vial. Did you use drugs, if so what kind. I have not been to a specialist yet, just an OBGYN and I plan on going next month so I am trying to get all the info I can. Thanks.

Boy, I was out for 4 days and had a lot of catching up to do! Congratulations Dana! And Patti it sounds like you have some good news! I have some great news of my own. I had my appt. yesterday and the DR confirmed I'm 8 wks. We heard a very strong heartbeat. This makes all the hard work and two miscarriages all worth it now. It's sure hard when you're in the middle of it. I hope the hard part is over. I'm excited but still a little guarded probably will be until the amnio is over. Must have one at 41. Can you feel the sprinkling of baby dust covering you?! My best wishes and prayers go out to each of you!

OK ladies I just took a fourth test and it was another faint positive. I wasn't going to take it but my husband told me to. I think I'm going to call my OB Dr. tomorrow. KTL I went to that site and I wish I could enlarge the pictures, it was very helpful though, thanks. Keep me in your thoughts tomorrow friends please....

Just wanted to update you all. This was a day I will never forget. At my visit they did a u/s and comfimed it. I got to meet my baby for the first time and saw it's heart beating. I couldn't believe it, this is a miricle sent from the heavens. God is good!!!!! Kathy Good luck on your bundle of joy. I am so happy for you. (words can't even explain how happy) Each and everyone of us has our own struggles and sometimes it seems like there will not be a light at the end of the tunnel and just when we give up hope there is light. For all of you that are discouraged Just hang in there and you will soon see the light. May God Bless all of you and blow buckets of baby dust your way...

Thanks for all the advise on temps. We are using sperm that hasn't been frozen and also bd'ing just to make sure we don't miss the window! My first pregnancy (ended in m/c) was all natural so if it can happen once it can happen again. Congrats Kathy spread the baby dust around and Patti you're in my thoughts good luck tomorrow.

hi kathy i just turned 43 in april.i have 4 iui cycles my dr tells me im responding beautiful to the fertilty meds we are now staring the 5th if you dont mind me asking did you concieve naturally. congratulations to you and best of luck

hi to everyone here. Just wanted to thank all your in-put on my question about temp's. I found this site to be helpful and to also find out that the stories here are very simular, but done in different ways. My story is about a 42 year old mom of 3 children from a previous marriage. Met the man of my dreams and our trying to had a child. First was to get the tubal ligation done(tubes untied) and wait about 5 weeks for the healing and did, fell pregnant and had an ectopic(tubal pregnancy) had to take metrotrexiate to remove it, took 5 months to heal from that, cause the blood has to get back down to the number 5. After the waiting I went back to the doctor, and just to make sure things were ok, he sent me for an u/s the tech there told me both tubes were blocked solid, so back in for an operation, just to find out that they were not. A waste of time. And so I tried for a few months, naturally and nothing. So iui is our next step. So this is my first, and my last iui, from having 2 was friday, doctor said everything was very good, just have to wait the 2 weeks...possitive thinking but hard not to think of it at all, well baby dust for me thanks for the ears ladies, and info you would like about the puredon pin that I used for injections just ask. thanks again.

Tracy, It took us quite a while and a lot of IUIs, but that doesn't mean it will for you. For some reason I can't seem to get pregnant unless I have an HSG (your chances are increased for 3 mths after one). I guess there must be something with my tubes that just needs to be flushed out. Since I had a normal cycle and we knew we had male issues, we did several IUIs (no drugs) before any fertility tests on me. My 1st pg was the month after the HSG, but I m/c. We did a few more IUIs, then tried a couple of IUIs with Clomid, but nothing. Then I moved to Femara and we did another HSG, not for diagnostic, but just to try to recreate the conditions where I got pregnant the 1st time. The 2nd month after the HSG I got pg, so it worked once again. According to my doctor, if you were doing things completely naturally you would have about a 20% chance each cycle and it is the same for IUI. So statistically if you have a 1 in 5 chance you would think that you should get pregnant within 5 IUIs. We would have gotten there faster with IVF (my doctor said I would have had a 50% chance each cycle of IVF), but I wasn't sure I was ready for or could handle the whole IVF process, so we stuck it out with IUI.

Well, I chickened out, I can't go to the Dr. I'm too scared. My temp was still high this morning so I ran up to the store and bought some more test just to see. It was not CBE & it was neg. So with that being said. I am just going to stop taking test and if I don't start in 1 week I will go to the Dr. then. Thanks for the support friends.

Linda ny - Thank you! You asked if we conceived naturally. This was my 2nd IUI, first one failed. Both times we used the drugs Menogon and Gonal-F, along with the HCG shot and Insemination 36 hrs. later. The 2 m/c I had previously were completely natural but happened only after I had the hysteroscopy which I truly believed cleaned out the plumbing. We had been trying for 18 mos. before that. I'm so glad the dr said you're responding well to the drugs. Which ones are you taking? Best of luck to you!!
