Macaron-My friend who just got pregnant from IUI took her test on day 26 of her cycle and tested postive. She took one the day before and it was negative. I guess having a negative test first is a good sign that the drugs are out of your system. I would just do whatever makes you feel at peace. I am going to test on the day of my missed period because I am leaving for a wedding in Florida that same day. I will not be able to take a blood test until the week after. Are you taking progesterone? I am wondering if that makes your cycle longer? Oh and I was so irritable yesterday as well. I was like that a couple of days of the fertility shots. I am 30 and I have a high FSH and endometriosis so I have a couple of things against me, but my RE was really surprised that I responded to drugs. Has your doctor been able to identify why you have had trouble conceiving? I hope you have a better day today! I have a busy day so I am hoping that will keep my mind off of everything.

I had my first IUI 5/11. I used 100mg clomid due to pcos. I am very emotional, tired, and keep getting headaches...Do you think I should test or wait another week?

natasha - May 19th, 2005 6:43 PM

hello Rachel, i am having the same symtomps as you, and i just want to know did you test ++ on your pregnancy test. I won't be able to test until 5-28-05, so please let me know, so i could see where i stand.

marisa - May 19th, 2005 7:18 PM

OK I'm still a bit tired and my bb's aren't painful but feel a little sore. I want to test so bad but don't want to do that to myself if it isn't what I want. It's been 8 days since my IUI and I haven't had implantation bleeding....but, does that even happen all the time? I feel like I keep asking the same questions but I'm so darn anxious.

hi Ashley and all IUI girls!

Today is my Day 26. I feel the similar heaviness in my abdomen as the one you get right before af....getting really worried. But my bb temp is still high (36.9),so probably not getting it so soon. You are right about progesterone having effect of prolonging your cycle. Yes, I am taking it too. ( The medicine I am using is called Utrogestan. )

The reasons why I am getting fertility treatment is that (1)I am 39 and the Dr thinks we should expedite the process before it gets too late, and (2) my boyfriend's sperm test came back as on "borderline" . On the day of the IUI, though, Dr told us that his sperm condition was so much better than before, and there were three million count (washed), which he said is not "borderline" anymore. (We were very happy to hear that and I just kept on cheering up the sperms, imagining their swimming up to my eggs!)

Well, I guess I might take the test at home maybe tomorrow. Will let you know the result! Good luck to you Ashley, and don't eat Papaya. (I heard that mint is not good either) Good luck to you all IUI girls!

macaron - May 19th, 2005 9:52 PM

I did the test today after all (Day 26), and the result was negative... Maybe it will be positive tomorrow???? I am going crazy, just hoping there is something happening in my tummy...dreadful to think seeing af starting. and it is only my first IUI. Maybe I will get used to it and can shrugg off anything soon...what a life. Anyway, I am planning on two vacations in June and July, so cannot get treatment for 2 weeks. I will start again in August. (Of course, I will try natural way just in case!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Ashley - May 20th, 2005 12:16 AM

Wow! It looks like several of us are on similar cycles. Macaron-I am sorry you got a negative result, but it might just be too early. I heard First Response early results is suppose to be the best.

macaron - May 20th, 2005 1:16 AM

Yeah, it is funny, actually to imagine many women are experiencing the same thing at the same time (i am living in Hong Kong, now).
Thanks, Ashley. I will get First Response next time! Yes, my bb temprature is still high, so am hoping my af is not coming, and the negative result was because I tested too early. I will go and get blood test next monday if I don't get af this weekend! Have a good weekend all.

karee - May 20th, 2005 11:37 AM

How big was your one follicle? I had my IUI on May 9 and 10. I only had one dominant follicle. I go for my pregnancy test on Sunday 05/22. I am so nervous!

Shell - May 20th, 2005 11:42 AM

I'm sorry that message was for karee about how big was her dominant follicle

macaron - May 20th, 2005 5:33 PM

Shell, I know how you feel about the test! Good luck. Sunday is very early for the test, compared to what my DR told me. (I guess maybe because the clinic is not open on Sunday, here...) I pray for your +++++result! Lots of baby dust to your way! I still haven't got the period (well, today is the first missed day, so too early to think), and my bb temp is still high, started having sharper localized pain in abdomen (like the one that feels like I'm stung by a needle), my bbs look so much bigger and soar, feeling tired and restless.

Jen - May 20th, 2005 11:31 PM

Wow! This sight is GREAT. The best i have found for this IUI experience yet. Thank you God! It's amazing to me how many of us are feeling dull cramping. I have been feeling it both sides and have been tired. I had my IUI on Monday May 16. One follie. But get this. I ovulated in the doctor's office right after she inseminated me! (The sonogram showed an inflated sac before the IUI and after it she did another one to show the sperm and she said "Wow, look at that, you just ovulated. It just happened. See the sac went down". I pray that was God's hand. My first IUI. I hope it works. Thanks again for everyone's posts. They help SOOOOO much. I will keep everyone posted!!!

macaron - May 21st, 2005 3:23 AM

Jen, that is amazing. I didn't know you can actually see that!!!! I wish I could see that. My Doctor didn't do any ultra sound the day of IUI.
I am very happy for you! Let us know what the result was!!!!Lots of baby dust to you.

becky - May 21st, 2005 10:11 AM

Hi everyone, I had my IUI on 9 May and tomorrow will be my 13 days after IUI. I don't feel so crampy as before and my breasts are not sore or getting bigger but my nipples are getting a little bit bigger than usual, also I feel hungry all the time. I feel like getting fatter because I didn't do any exercise for 2 weeks (you know after 35, fat just can store anywhere in your body, especially around the waist area). After I gave birth to my daughter almost 3 years ago, I have been loosing my hair a lot when I washed them, but this few days it calms down a lot, don't know this is a good sign or not. I had two follicles this time and if I am not pregnant I am not going to try IUI again. My husband both decided if no luck this year, we are going to adopt a baby next year. Anyway, I am going to test it on Monday, will let you girls know the result. Good luck to everybody.

becky - May 21st, 2005 10:13 AM

sorry should be 'my hunsband and I', hehe.

Aprilsmile - May 21st, 2005 12:44 PM

I absolutely hate this waiting!! I had some cramping day 4 through 7, but since then nothing. I had IUI on the 12th so I am waiting for next weekend to come so I will finally know!! I have been asking around and the only thing most people say about before missing a period is that their boobs were sore and they thought it was just PMS. Just put me to sleep for the next week!!!!
