KellyN... It's difficult to be happy for other friends who are pregnant when your brain says congrats and your heart feels crushed--trust me, I have 10 friends pregnant! You have to believe that your turn will happen and it will! It will happen for all of us! Tomorrow is my last Clomid pill--Praise God! Hopefully my headaches will disappear and ovulation will be occurring soon!!!

KellyN - August 18th, 2005 7:26 AM

Thanks everyone for your kind words! I'm feeling a bit better today. Went home yesterday and cried all night it seems. I think I'm over emotional from the clomid. Anyone else having high emotions these days? Kerri, I'm a day behind you, so I have today and tomorro left with the clomid. Can't wait til its over! Hot flashes woke me up a couple of times last night. -kelly

Ladies, thanks to everyone for sharing their stories. It will give me hope if at least one of us conceives this month. It is very discouraging sometimes, but you need to stay upbeat and know that it will happen. My sister had been ttc for over 1y. (like me) went on Clomid for 3 c. and is now due in Jan. It was initially depressing to see both of my sisters pregnant at the same time--both due in Jan. I really would like to join them. I'm wondering if any of you have been sharing your infertility experience with friends and relatives?? I have only told my sister (with similar issues) and a friend. I wonder if it's normal to want to keep this under wraps or if I'm unhealthy. This forum is helpful to me. Good luck to everyone. Angel, Kerri, and Julie would love to hear more about how Clomid is going. Amanda- must be starting tomorrow along with me. Angel dust to everyone!!!

Has anyone experienced spotting while taking clomid? My af was cut short when I started taking clomid on cd 3. I had one day of spotting on cd3, then nothing. Now, cd5, I just found out I am spotting?? I was kind of confused about why my period what so short too, but I figured it must be the clomid. Anyone else??

Amanda - August 18th, 2005 9:49 AM

Hey guys i start clomid today i hope i dont get to many side effects but it will all be worth it if one of use gets pregnant this month but whoever it is you will have to stay talking to us so we know what its like...i dont have any friends or family that has pcos that i know of my sister may but she has been pregnant twice before but had 2 miscarriages before so everyone on this website is really my strong hold so i dont lose it i have been trying to get pregnant since last november but couldnt figure out why i wasnt having my period and was coming up negative on p tests then i finally told the nurse that i wanted to talk to my gyno so they set up an appointment they did a bunch of tests then she decided to send me to another doctor and he told me that i had pcos i had never heard of it and when he told me the things that happen with pcos i knew that was definatly what i had so i have only known since june 27 so this is my first month on clomid days 5-9 i hope at least one of us has good luck this month baby dust for all !!!!!!!!!!!!

Julie - August 18th, 2005 1:34 PM

2nd day of Clomid and I started taking Folic Acid today as well, my dr. wanted me to. So far no problems. I had a headache yesterday late afternoon/night and was really tired, BUT I get headaches on occasion anyway and I'm always really tired, so who knows if had anything to do with the Clomid??

Julie - August 18th, 2005 1:36 PM

I also noticed that my period this time has been on the lighter side. I took Prometrium to get it and I did get it, but not as heavy as it usually is. ???

KellyN - August 18th, 2005 1:44 PM

Hi Julie! I'm so glad someone else had a short af! Mine usually is not all that long, because of the pcos, but it usually is at least 3 days. Not this time. I also had a headache the first night after taking the clomid. Nothing much last night, just kind of emotional and sad feeling. So far so good today, though! I'm glad to be half-way through my doses!!

Amanda - August 18th, 2005 1:48 PM

so when you start clomid .. your on your period ... and then once you start taking it ... it is like it stops the period??? provera always works for me .. but it makes my period very heavy .. does this happen to anyone else that takes med like provera ??? does it make your period heavier than normal?? just curious thanks for the info everyone.. and lots of baby dust

Julie - August 18th, 2005 1:53 PM

Well, my period isn't over yet. It started on Monday 8/15, it's just lighter than normal that's all.. It looks like it could be on it's way out maybe, but it's still there for now. Normally, my 2nd day which would have been on Tuesday is usually the heaviest, but it just wasn't as much as it normally was. But, I was just glad to have one since my last one was on June 11th! I'll take what I can get.... I don't know if I have PCOS or not. Dr. said my symptoms are consistent with it, but he didn't officially say one way or the other. I don't have excess hair, not obese, etc (these are alot of the symptoms I saw online), but I guess you don't have to have those things to have it. I have not had any ultrasounds or anything done yet. We are trying the Clomid first for 3 months, they going to plan B....

KellyN - August 18th, 2005 2:33 PM

Amanda, yes, it seems that's what happened to me. I started spotting last wednesday, then finally got af on Sunday, then medium to light flow through Monday, then only spotting again by Tuesday. Nothing yesterday, then I spotted again today. Guess I'll just see what happens! Julie, it doesn't sound like you have pcos, and hopefully you don't. For me I had no symptoms either, not overweight, blood pressure is normal to low, no facial hair, heck I even had a period every month. The doc said that not all of my ovaries are covered, but most of it is. That's why I still got my period, and probably even was ovulating a few times a year. Does anyone know if you have to ovulate in order to have a period, or could your body just fool you into thinking you ovulated and then get your period??

Julie - August 18th, 2005 2:38 PM

I'm not sure about that.... Kelly, how did you find out you had PCOS? Did you get a test done that came back positive for it? Or are they just guessing you have it?

KellyN - August 18th, 2005 2:45 PM

They did an ultrasound and showed me the cists. My doc specializes in fertility, and is also a fertility surgeon. Unfortunately its real! :o(

Julie - August 18th, 2005 2:47 PM

Oh, ok... Well, I could very well have it too and just not know it because I haven't had a test done yet.... Lovely... Do they hurt?

Ragini - August 18th, 2005 2:52 PM

Hi Amanda, I was on Provera from Aug 2nd till Aug 11th(10 days) I started my period on the 13th and I have started Clomid on the 17th. I am really excited to become pregnant.

Goodluck
