I'm 31 going on 32 and just had my first IUI yesterday. My clinic likes to do 2 IUIs back to back so I'm actually going back today for IUI #2. I also took Clomid for 5 days and had a shot of Ovidrel this past Saturday to force ovulation as I had 2 follicles that were getting large but my hormones weren't what they should be, so I had the shot. I'm now in my 2ww and really hoping that this works the first time around. I know that it's so hard to go through this when you want a baby really badly. I assume that the reason why your doc wants you on Clomid is to help your follicles develop and grow. The shot will be to force on ovulation because you don't want the follicles to get too large. Using Clomid probably makes it easier to monitor where you are in your cycle. I have PCOS and don't ovulate on my own, that's why I had to take it. Not sure if this is your issue as well. hi stella i m 24 and TTC since 1 year.I will be going for IUI this month today is my 4th day ..My doc had given me letroze for the first time once she diagnosed i was not ovulating on my own. It didnt worked with letroze the first time either. then i was on Clomid for 2 months and had PCT done which showed that my hubby has low motility. last month he kept me without any medicines and i ovulated on my own. but my pct still says the same story. thus he recommended me only IUI this time. Waiting for Good news to come over. Do ask ur doc whether u have any ovulation problem, only in that case i belive u need injectables. Or may be the doc is being on safer side not taking any risk. wish u luck..keep posting would love to share with u my progress...

Hi i went to doc today.this cycle i was on letroze 10 tabs 2.5gm taken on 3-5 day. Today i had gone for ultrasound and found out two follies on right 18 and 17 its by CD10. he has called me 2moro to check the progress.
will keep u guys posted.

i had my iui on 21st may and now i m on 11dpiui. hoping for the best :)

nidhi.d, good luck to you! I hope that when you test you'll get good news!!
Last time I posted I had just completed my back to back iuis. I tested on May 25th and it was positive but my beta was low then I retested on May 27th and it was even lower so that means I lost the pregnancy (at least it was very early on). So now I'm back to the drawing board.

hey i m on 15dpiui but i dont have any symtoms nor for AF nor of Pregnancy. Can i possibly be prego? i did hpt on 7dpiui and 10dpiui but it turned out to be negative. so i m scared to take another hpt.please give ur suggestions and share ur expierence if any one has gone thru such stage.

nidhi.d: You're tested too early. It takes anywhere from 6-12 days for a fertilized egg to implant. I tested 15dpiui. You should test now but I would call your clinic and see if they do the test for you.
I didn't have any af or pregnancy symptoms during my 2ww and I was pregnant, even though it turned out to be a chemical pregnancy. So maybe you are pregnant and aren't having any symptoms. Did you take any progesterone during your 2ww?
Let me know what the outcome is. I pray that it will be a BFP!!!

Stella86: what's going on with you? Have you started any meds yet?

they have not given any progestoren.i was givine only multivitamins tablets. i m on 16dpiui. i have heard that if ur 18dpiui with high bbt then there are hieghter changes of being pregnant. i m taking my morning bbt its showing high till date. so ill take an hpt on 8th.

Sorry to hear that nidhi.d. See what your doctor says. Don't get too stressed out over it. I've been told that it usually takes 2-4 IUIs to get that BFP. It will happen for us, it'll just take some time.

I'm on CD10 and did an OPK last night and it was positive. So it looks like I'm ovulating which is very strange because my cycles are usually very long and all of a sudden I get a positive result. Not sure if it could be an error as I've never done one before, so don't know what the rate of false positives is.

i wen to doc and he has given me only Cabergolin its to control my prolactin. this cycle is without any med. I went to doc on CD10 that is yesteday found one folli on my left 15mm they did a PCT today morning and its wasnt good. though my folli was grown upto 17.8mm. will have BD on 18th and 19th then will see doc on sunday 20th. Doc said if this cycle dosent work out we will do an HSG test and then again IUI.

Chorona: why dont u go for US rather than using OPK its not that effective i suppose...

What is a PCT? If your follie is 17.5mm then that's great, it's growing and you'll probably be able to do an iui soon, no?

The reason why I was doing OPKs is because I had to wait until my beta came back down after my failed pregnancy. Now I'm waiting for AF to come, which should be by June 30th. I figured I was use the OPKs this month on my own as I'm not being monitored on this cycle. I always get the u's done to know exactly where I am in my cycle.
Went to the dr this week and looks like once I get AF (wither naturally or with meds) I will take 5mg of Letrozole (Femara) for 5 days and then do another set of back to back IUIs. Hopefully I will ovulate sooner than I did with the Clomid and that this will be my cycle.

PCT is post collital test. In this test they first ask you to hv sex and within 8 hrs from then u have to go to clinic. They take sample from you uterus and check the nos of sperms alive and motile in fertile environment.my hubby had average motility this means sperms are not reaching the egg. so now i will b going to get my tubes check by hsg test and have another round of IUI next cycle.....

Are u only taking meds or u are also having any othe alternate treatments?

hi chorona.. I had HSG test done on 10CD. thankfully everything was normal. I m now planning to try without meds for couple of months as every report of mine is normal and i m even ovulating on my own. what are ur updates??? any news??

Hi nidhi.d,
After my chemical pregnancy at the end of May I had to wait to get AF and for my beta to come back down. Got AF before the beta came down, so couldn't really do anything. I had to wait for AF again and it came on July 10th. On July 12th (CD3) went to the fertility clinic for u/s and b/w. All hormone levels looked good so I started taking Femara (Letrozole) and I will continue to take that until this coming Friday. I go back to the clinic on July 19 (CD10) to start monitoring the follicles. Hopefully they will grow faster than the last time on Clomid so that we can do another set of IUIs. We are going to Vegas on July 29th, so hopefully it can happen before we go on our trip.

What's going on with you? Any luck on your own without meds?
Today is cd10 for me. I went to the clinic and they found 3 follies!!! 2 on my right 15mm and 13.5mm, and 1 on my left 16mm. I'm really positive about this cycle. We'll for sure be doing the IUI this week, but I'm not sure when. I'm now being monitored daily, so I go back tomorrow to see if how they're growing.
