What I had was actual CM. The suppositories that I used were not the little wax ones, but instead looked like little yellow oval capsules/pills. Sorry for the TMI that's about to follow, but it was actual CM because went I went to the restroom, it looked like the CM right around the time of ovulation.

mari - October 18th, 2005 5:17 PM

okiejpb- i wish i had those capsules, i use the little wax ones and it's a BIG mess lol. did u use any meds while you had a cold and pg? last night i had to take tylenol sinus in order to breath a bit i have been so congested and didn't want to take anything but after two nights like this i had to, my nurse said it was ok. but i cant help worrying.

Beth - October 18th, 2005 5:49 PM

Hi Everyone! Thanks for your words of encouragement for my upcoming IVF cycle. I'm really excited and anxious for it! I'm just waiting for AF, then I'll start bcp. I'm actually going in this week to talk to RE about starting the IVF next cycle without bcp. What do you guys think? I normally don't ovulate on my own, so I don't think I really need a month on bcp. Okiejpb-when do you start bcp? Mari-sorry about your cold. I don't think you have anything to worry about with your cold interferring with chances for preg. Just make sure you get as much rest as possible and no ibuprofen. Take Tylenol if you have to. Helen-how are you? Anna-how are you? Baby dust!!!

Lynn - October 18th, 2005 7:14 PM

Mari - I took first teat at 29 days with a BIG NO!!! When AF did not show on day 35, I figured it was time to try again. Kind of funny, I took 4 in a metter of an hour just because I could not believe my eyes. Okiejpb and Beth - Let us know how your doing with IVF. Are you girls going to leave us for a different posting? Carrie, Mari and Helen - Keep us posted on you days so we can wait with you. Anna - What will you be doing next? Helen - Thanks for the kind words. Just yesterday I was feeling very sorry for myself. Mainly triggered by a phone call to see how I was doing which turned into anger of wanting to know why life can be so cruel to the people who could really care for a child and want it more than anything. I could go on but support is what y'all need not negative thoughts. Happy Baby Thoughts to us all.

Okiejpb - October 18th, 2005 7:43 PM

Mari - I don't remember if I took anything for my cold. I'm sure I must have because I felt very crappy, but I just don't remember what. You should definitely be okay with the Tylenol med.

Here's my latest update. I usually don't have this much drama in my life, I promise. I got a call from my RE this morning saying that he doesn't want me to start bcp as we had discussed. Given that their office tries to group together their patients the do IVF, I fall in the middle of an existing group, so he wants me to wait until my cycle starts in November before starting bcp. Also, he said that by being on bcp too long, it could overly suppress my cycle therefore causing me not to produce a good amount of follies. So the problem for me comes into the fact that I have a business trip I have to take during the second week of December, which runs right into the timeframe in which I'd either being ending my injectables and/or going into the egg retrieval/egg transfer stage of ivf. So now I'm not going to start ivf until January. My RE suggested just taking a break. What are the chances of conceiving this month with some good old fashioned love-making:) Although I've just started going to this RE this past cycle, I don't want to switch RE's. I'll just say plenty of prayers, sit out a couple of cycles, and start fresh in January. I'd actually be starting the bcp during the last week of December. Anyway, I really do appreciate all of the support everyone has been providing on this site. I will definitely still be checking in here and there, if that's okay.

Carrie - October 18th, 2005 8:15 PM

I have been busy and haven't really had to post. Thank you though for all the support and encourgement. I go in for a progestrone blood test tomorrow so I'll post more when I know what is going on. I hate this 2ww!!

helen - October 19th, 2005 2:04 PM

hi girls..Mari, i'm sorry your'e not feeling well sweetie. that was something i was concerned about as well because i thought i was coming down with something too. but after much needed rest, i feel better. Okiepb, what do you mean group together IVF patients? everyone has diff. cycles, that doesn't make any sense!! anyways, sorry you have to sit out a couple of cycles. at least you won't have that added on stress during the holidays and you can enjoy it without being on meds and scheduling everything according to the appts. good luck with the "love making" and have fun! Carrie, how did your appt go today? hope your progesterone levels came back normal. Lynn, how are you doing? its ok to vent in this forum, we all understand. but thanks for the positive thoughts! Beth, just talk to your RE and do everything he says, i know waiting for another cycle is hard, but with all the money, energy, and time invested, you should do it right and pray it'll work on your first try. that's just my thought :-) whatever you do, we only wish you the best!!! Anna, any news on your AF yet? oh Mari, my suppositories are like okiejpb, not messy at all, ask your RE about that. i've had a slight cramping on my left side last night, hope it's nothing to worry about. happy baby thoughts and loads of baby dust to all my girls!!!

Okiejpb - October 19th, 2005 2:59 PM

Helen - Apparently they have you on bcp to suppress something or another before they start you on Lupron. Although everyone is on completely different cycles, apparently they can tailor it so that you all become closer to the same or get on the same schedule with the manipulation of drugs. Sorry for this somewhat confusing explanation, but I'll have to ask my RE for a better, easier explanation. I asked my DH to call my MIL as she knows someone who runs/owns a vitamin/nutritional shop. I'd like for her to send me anything that is supposedly helpful in fertility. Given that I will be sitting out almost 2 months, I figured that I might as well see what I can do on the side. Not sure if any of this will work, but I'm willing to give it a try.

mari - October 19th, 2005 3:22 PM

hi girls, helen- when did your boobies start hurting and are they still sore? mine are not even close to other times. does any one know how long hcg stays in your system. as for my cold, still stuffed up but calmer. bye and lots of baby dust. oh tomorrow i go in for prog. blood work, how about u helen?

helen - October 19th, 2005 6:49 PM

Mari, my breasts started hurting the following day of the trigger shot. they are still sore, especially the nipple area, but not as bad as the first couple of days. i believe it stays in your system for approx. 10 days. i am so bloated!!! my stomach is swollen. i still weigh the same but my stomach looks like i swallowed a ball. i don't go in for my progesterone levels. why do you need to go in? to see how well you're responding to meds? Okiejpb, that kind of sucks!! i wonder if it is easier to manage everyone this way? if i were you i would be so upset. but you are taking it so well, you're a much bigger person than me!! you should try taking some herbal supplements, it couldn't hurt at this point. i think i would stand on my head for a month if someone said you can get pg that way :-) be sure to keep in touch with all of us. you've been great at explaining things to me, thank you. well girls, one week down, one more to go.

Carrie - October 19th, 2005 6:54 PM

Hi ladies.. I hope everyone is doing good and feeling better. I went in this morning for progestrone bloodwork. The dr. left me a message this afternoon that my level was "excellent" and that I wouldn't need any progestrone supplements. My the time I got the message the office was closed so I don't know what excellent means.. I kinda wanted them to give me a number. She said if I don't get my period I can test in a week.now I just have to wait this week out.

Lynn - October 19th, 2005 7:02 PM

Okiejpb - I can relate to waiting a few cycles, I was put on the bcp for 8 weeks to get myself together. That puts me at trying either December or January. The stressfree old fashion lovemaking is kind of good after scheduling it for so long. So, my advice: Have Fun!!! Helen, Carrie and Mari - Good to hear you got one down and one more to go. I never went for level checks either. Once they did the IUI, I was snet home and never heard form again until yes it worked or no it did not. It is amazing how different so many doctors are. I have learned so much from each of you and go in with tons of questions. Keep us posted and I'll check back tomorrow.

Debbie - October 20th, 2005 7:12 AM

I been on follistim for 3 days. Going in today for
an u/s and blood work to measure estraidol (SP?). I'll keep you all posted. 5 failed UIU's, with 2 on clomid. Nervous, but staying strong.

Debbie - October 20th, 2005 7:14 AM

Forgot to mention that I'm new, and reading the postings have boosted my confidence.

helen - October 20th, 2005 1:33 PM

hi Debbie, welcome. good luck today on your E2 levels. let us know how it goes. Lynn, i've had my progesterone levels measured once and everything is good. you only have to get it measured once to get the idea of whether or not you've O'd. well, i guess if you don't O every month you would have to get your levels checked often. since you've recently found out you have PCOS, you should speak with your doc about this. but i've read that the blood progesterone levels don't tell you much about the quality of the lining. you would need an endometrial biopsy to know exactly how your lining is. Carrie, good to know that your levels were excellent. hopefully this first time will be the lucky one. Mari, how are you doing? i hope you're feeling better from that bug. my DH woke up last night with chills so i slept in the other room. this morning he had a fever of 100 degrees and i know that a fever is definitely not good for me just in case i'm pg. Mari, how did your appt go today? talk to you soon.

Mari - October 20th, 2005 2:53 PM

Hi girls, welcome debbie and good luck this cycle. My re just called, he said my levels are over 40, which is great only hope its a good sign, it's the highest its ever been. Helen- take care of yourself try not to get sick. I can relate to the sleeping in the other room, lol but unfortunatly i still got sick. Lynn - thanks for your support, i can tell u are a wonderful person as all the ladies in this forum. Okiejpb - good luck with the "natural cycles" there have been to cases at my dr's office where they took some time off and got pg, i guess they still had some meds in there system or it regulated something for a while. Carrie - did u ask what excellent means? Anna - any news. Baby dust to all!!! Oh i'm still very stuffed up but thankfully no fever.
