What is pcos?

Stephanie - November 18th, 2005 12:56 AM

Hi everyone. Just wanted to see how things are going on your side. I hit the peak for ov yesterday so the long hopeful waiting starts. Katie, pcos is kind of hard to discribe... it is a problem where a person has cysts in the overies that can cause really bad problems... including infertility and other things to say the least. When I first found out that I had it I went to web MD to find out the full details. I recommend that web site. Look under polycystic ovarian syndrome to answer all of your questions.
Good luck to all, and keep in touch.

So what's the next step if Femera pills (only) do not get me to ovulate?

Katie - November 19th, 2005 3:30 PM

I'm on femara... this is my first month. My doctor told me that if it doesn't work after 3 months then we're going to stop. Has anyone had luck with femara? My doctor told me I should ovulate around days 13, 14, or 15. Should I get ovulation predictor kits or just trust that femara will work and that is the time of ovulation? Just wondering. Thanks for any help or advice.

eb - November 19th, 2005 7:59 PM

I would get ovulation predictor kits, b'c i don't ovulate until day 17 or 18 and i take 2 2.5 femera's days 5-9.

Good luck carrol . I started my 3rd round of femera today. Dreading the mood swings, but i'm very hopeful it will work this month. I o'ed last month progest count was 26. something, so maybe 3rd times a charm for me. I'll pray for you that would be a wonderful christmas gift.

JND - November 20th, 2005 10:54 AM

Carroll, I got my novarel injection on the 14th of Nov., the doc. seen 2 20mm follicles when is the soonest you'd think I'd know if it worked? If it did work do you think I should be feeling any s/s yet or no? It's a week tomorrow. Good luck to you also!!

Stephanie - November 20th, 2005 8:51 PM

Okay girls... question for you. I have that clear plan easy fertility monitor and I have been testing at peak fertility for two days now. Is it me or am I only suppost to be fertle for 36 hours?.
Abby, I have no clue what your doctor will do if femara doesn't make you ov. Maybe up your pills to two a day??? Katie, It is always a good idea to get one of those ov kits. I had a hard time reading the over the counter kinds but I found the digital ones to be fantastic....but they are not cheap.... but worth it. Good luck to all.

eb - November 21st, 2005 1:21 PM

Stephanie , I had positive opk two days in a row last month. It could just be the time of day or picking up first big surge of lh. It is possible. Just keep bding.

abby - November 21st, 2005 8:42 PM

Are all of you TTC#1? I am just so down about all of this. I hate the questions from friends and family. I wish I never told anyone in the first place b/c I hate the questions... Sorry just venting. Taking Provera to bring on period b/c cannot ever do that on my own.
