I have PCOS as well. I started my first dosage of Femara two weeks ago. It did nothing for me. It didn't stimulate my ovaries at all. I have a visit with the doctor next week to discuss my options (up the dose or change meds). I am new to this whole process, and I really think I should give Femara at least one more cycle before switiching to something else. Any news about it would be great.

I am wondering about side effects of Femara. I have had very minimal side effects, but I seem to have short term memory loss when I am taking it. Anyone else have this problem?

Never heard about memory loss. I've had moodiness, and hot flashes. They uped me to two 2.5 mg pills day 5-9 starting tomorrow. This will be my 2nd round on femera.

The only side effects that I have had with femara are the changes in the mood and occasional headaches. I have been having more effects with the Medformin....( then Femara ). I have had really bad headaches and nausea and I have been really tired in the past couple of days. But of caurse, side effects are different for everyone.... good luck!

I've started Femara this cycle, 2 X 2.5 mg a day, from day 3 to 7. I've had hot flashes, nausea and one head ache.

Hi Annie, you're the first person I've seen on the thread that is taking 2 pills a day like me. Today is my 2nd day on my 2nd round of femera. We've been ttc for 15 or 16 month. How about you. My side effects usually start today, hot flashes and very moody (mad at the world one min. and crying the next) LOL...

Hi Eb ! We've been TTC for almost 4 years now. We have both male and female issues and we're on the fourth IUI try. Last thursday (day 10 of my cycle) was my u/s: many small follies on the left side, 3 follies of 10mm on the rigth side (my good side). How many follies did you had on your first cycle of Femara ?

My re didn't do an ultrasound the first cycle, he said just let it take it's course and if nothing by December we'd talk again.. Not sure if he' dmonitor me closer or what.. I am on my last day of femera. Side effects not as bad as I thought they'd be this month, since they doubled my dose.

I tested on Sunday and negitive again. I see my doctor this week to talk about more options.....any idea's for me.... I have been on femara for one cycle.... please help.

Stephanie, he may want to up your dosage of femera. That is what my re did , and the side effects weren't much different. I was very surprised. I took my last dosage of 2 2.5 mg femera today and started opk today. Nothing yet, but I hop this is my month. I'm going to be 27 in Feb. ans we've been trying for 16 months now. Good luck to you. let us know what dr says.

I have PCOS (without the weight problem). I conceived twice on 150mg clomid and Metformin (3pills/day) with one miscarriage and one daughter. We tried that again this time but I did not respond to Clomid -on even higher doses. I took 2.5mg Femara and Metformin(only 1pill/day) produced a 22mm follicle. I got the HcG shot 3 days ago but have not noticed a rise in BBT yet. The side effects are so much better with the Femara. Good luck to you all!

Thank you eb. I went to the dr today and she kept my meds the same for another cycle of fam 2.5 mg and Metforamin 1000mg. The only thing that she changed was the recommendation that my husband who is a cancer survivor to get a male psyical on his part of the deal to make sure that everything is okay. So I am optimistic that this month will work. I just wish that I would not hear the little comments that people say in my everyday life ( most people know what we are going through with mixed feelings.) Like the maybe you were not meant to have children and everything else like that. are most people with your case supportive or do you get the same thing?

Has anyone gotten pregnant on 3rd cycle of femara? This is my third of 2.5 femara 2 times a day on 3 to 7. I also take 1000 metformin. I got pregnant the first cycle with help of hcg shot but miscarried within 2 weeks. 2nd cycle didn't get hcg and didn't start until day 32. Any good stories would be great! We've been trying for #2 for 2 years with 3 mc so far. They all happened after I had my son? Anyone had anything similar? Thanks good luck to all.
