I bet you will feel great after you have gotten into the exercising groove! So, you go again today, too? This will be a tough week! I am glad you found a trainer that wants to help you with nutrition and all the other stuff instead of it being like a meeting to work out. I didn't know clomid had that side effect. Did it make you more hungry or did you just gain weight anyway?

Tracy - March 17th, 2006 11:32 AM

Went to the gym again today--yeah!!!! It's a big deal for me because I've had my membership since July and had gone probably like five times--thus the trainer and accountability. My doctor didn't think that my sudden weight gain was from clomid, but it is listed as a side effect and it happened to me and other women I've read on forums. My trainer says it's definitely from the clomid. It makes you put on water weight. I do not have the type of body that just puts on weight out of nowhere either and it was five pounds a month, each month I was on the stuff. Anyhoo.....did you do the trigger shot? When is your IUI? Does DH have to do his thing in a cup for that or how does that work?

Ann - March 17th, 2006 11:42 AM

Hi Tracy. I did the trigger--didn't hurt at all (whew). I stress more with new shots, but that one was a breeze as far as physical pain goes. Yes, dh has to do the cup thing. Every time up to now he has done his thing at home, but this dr wants it done at the office. Dh is a little stress about that, but I know he can do it! His part is so much easier that he knows not to complain to me at this point (after the shots especially). From your pics, you definitely don't look like you would be prone to random weight gains! If it was all water weight, would it not go away shortly after stopping clomid? Any fun weekend plans??

Tracy - March 17th, 2006 12:13 PM

Never any fun weekend plans....DH doesn't have time right now since his business is booming. But that's OK since the better the business does, the easier life actually gets for both of us. We plan on perhaps going to Finland this summer with my mom (that's where she's from) and maybe New Zealand at some point as a deferred honeymoon. Right now though the focus is on affording all the infertility stuff. DH's sister is wealthy though, so she said she'd love to pay if we needed IVF or the like. She said she'd do anything to have a little niece or nephew running around. I am so blessed with the family I married into. They are so good to me and DH. After stopping the clomid, I already feel thinner. You can see a difference in my belly and entire mid-section. I just feel better all around. Did the injectibles mess with your emotions or weight? Any headaches?

Ann - March 17th, 2006 2:27 PM

The injections did make my stomach feel "puffy" but I didn't really gain any weight. They didn't mess with my emotions, I don't think. I was extra stressed with my needle phobia, but I don't feel different/altered if you know what I mean. I didn't have headaches at all, but I think the acupuncture really helps with that. I have headaches sometimes but I haven't even had one since acupuncture started. Finland would be cool. I have never been there. I have only been across the pond to France, Italy, and Spain. We were going to go to France this May, but I couldn't use my frequent flyer miles. We plan to go next year. Have you been to Europe a lot?

Tracy - March 17th, 2006 2:57 PM

I have only been to Finland and Sweden, but fly through France. I have gone probably 6 to 8 times in my life. I would love to see France, Italy, Spain, Greece, etc... but my dream trip is New Zealand. I think it has to be the single most beautiful place I have ever seen.

Tracy - March 18th, 2006 9:29 AM

Ann-how was the IUI??? Do tell.....

Ann - March 18th, 2006 7:24 PM

Hi Tracy. Iui went well. Dh's sample was great--over 100mil after the washing! I've heard that anything over 30mil doesn't increase chances, but I figure it can't hurt. My lining was up to 12 and Friday's estradiol was 700 something. All is well for a good cycle. The only thing that worries me is that I haven't had any ewcm. I hope the trigger made me O as it should. The dr said my cervix was open and he could see cm, so I hope it is ok. How are you doing? Are you going to track your O this month as usual and try on a natural cycle?

Tracy - March 19th, 2006 2:10 PM

Everything sounds like it is going well!!! I will be tracking my ovulation with OPK's this month. I bought a fertility monitor, but got it too late to start this cycle. I think I'll pee on a stick in a little while. Today is cd9, so just in case I ovulate early I want to start doing them today. We are still going to baby dance as if trying, but I don't have much faith in my left ovary since on a clomid cycle I had not produced any good follicles. Well, gonna go have lunch...starving right now. Glad to hear things are going so well...I hope it's your turn!

Ann - March 19th, 2006 2:29 PM

Glad you are on with the plan. How do you know you will have follies on the left?

Tracy - March 21st, 2006 10:32 AM

Hey Ann- I don't know that I will have follies on the left, that is why I am switching doctors, so these things can be monitored. Last time I ovulated on the left, my day21 progesterone level indicated that I did ovulate, although compared to the right ovary, it was much less productive. There's a lot I don't even understand about the left ovary, and what would cause such a difference between the two, but like I said, that is why I switched doctors. I liked the guy I had, but felt answerless sometimes. Just met a lady in the sauna yesterday who saw the doctor I am going to see, and had two beautiful sons because of him. This doctor has such a good reputation. I can't wait to see him. How are you holding up in the TWW?? I am only on cd11 and I know I ovulated yesterday, so I guess that makes me in the wait as well. Let me know how you are doing...

Ann - March 21st, 2006 10:51 AM

Welcome to the 2ww! I can't believe I am only 3dpo. It is taking forever. Did you not keep the appt you had on March 7th? I am glad you are going to talk to someone else.

Tracy - March 21st, 2006 1:45 PM

No, I didn't keep the appointment I had on the 7th because I had not gotten some necessary paperwork from my insurance company yet and knew it wouldn't come in time. So now I wait till the 12th. The paperwork has been dealt with. The TWW should be called the Torturous two week wait because it just drags on and on. I had more ewcm a little while ago, but don't know if it was from my body or DH's. We baby danced last night, but my body doesn't usually hold on to his swimmers once I get up to go pee, so I think it was ewcm. I am out of OPK's....really should go buy more.

Ann - March 21st, 2006 2:58 PM

So, you already got a positive opk, didn't you? Hopefully the little swimmers just got way up there to stay! So now you don't go in until April 12th? Will that be in time to do something on your next cycle if you don't get a BFP this time?

Tracy - March 21st, 2006 7:46 PM

I'm pretty sure I got a positive OPK. The line was almost as dark as the test line on Sunday, and then Monday it was lighter. Those were the only two pee sticks I had and I just assumed I was ovulating, but now, well, I'm not so sure. I would have been sure if I had not seen that glob of stuff come out of me today. TMI-I know. I'm not usually this airheaded, but I have spent all of my cash reserves on healthy food and supplements, and don't want to ask DH for another dime this week. I have just robbed him blind lately, so I'm trying to give him a break. If I could remember to take my temp in the morning I might not be having this discussion right now. Anyway, if AF arrives on day 28 as it should, my appointment will be exactly six days later. I know, too late to start something. I will call them to see if they get any opening earlier and impress upon them how important it is that I see him sooner.

Nicole - March 21st, 2006 8:05 PM

I have never been on this site before. I am a first time clomid user after 3 years unsuccessful trying for baby number three. I am on day 21 today and was wondering the same thing I ovulated on day 20 and was wondering when and if I could be excited. I have only had one person I kno use clomid and she only had 3 days of 25 clomid and fell pregnant that month so I assumed if I didnt fall there was something more wrong with me. Not that it is a good thing you guys are feeling like me but I felt so much better knowing I am not alone. Do you guys have other children?
