Tracy, no wine or drinks?? That is rough. Those are the only pros to af arriving for me!:) Are you still determined to not test? Like I said, I've heard of people spotting and being pg. I hope it is your case. I just talked to a coworker/friend of mine. She was married and has 2 kids. Her af hasn't arrived as it should have this month. If she accidentally gets pg and I can't do it after all this trying, I will be so depressed!!

Tracy - February 7th, 2006 12:39 PM

Ann, I just got back from the doctor's office. I got a B12 shot and found out my day21 progesterone level. It was a sad, low 9. Last month it was a 32.6!!! What the hell is happening? The doctor was in surgery, I saw the nurse, so when he comes in this afternoon, he is supposed to call me. This sucks big time!!!!! Needless to say, there is no way I am PG. I just don't think it's possible. AF will be here soon, I guess this month I should just welcome her with open arms.

Ann - February 7th, 2006 2:54 PM

Tracy, I am sorry to hear that. I have never had progesterone checked, but I've heard they check it to see if you Oed. Does that mean you didn't O or does that mean, if your progesterone was at 9, you can't be pg? If they took your blood, are they doing a pg test too?

Ann - February 7th, 2006 2:55 PM

BTW, I had lunch with my coworker today and she took a pg test at lunch and it was BFN. She is relieved and I don't have to be jealous. Whew!

Ann - February 8th, 2006 10:33 AM

Hey Tracy, any news today??

Tracy - February 8th, 2006 11:40 AM

Hey Ann, AF showed up at work last night. My boss knows everything I've been going through and told me to go home. I love her, she is so awesome to work for. Never heard from the doctor yesterday, so I called this morning, and she is going to have him get back to me as soon as he gets in. Ironically he had multiple deliveries to take care of throughout the night; hopefully one day it will be mine. The progesterone level shows I probably ovulated, but the follicle was either weak, immature, or small; just not meant to make it into this world. They want to see a 10 for a healthy ovulation, and a 15 on a medicated cycle (which I was) so I didn't cut the mustard this month out of that ovary. I'll let you know what the doctor says if he ever calls me back. I never thought I'd have these problems. I have been PG before. One miscarriage and one terminated. I think my doctor is going to put me on Glucophage for PCOS. Your husband's business sounds cool. Wine rooms are very popular, so he must do quite well. My husbands business is Data Back-Up and Retrieval. For example, a bank may store all of their data with them in case of a disaster (like a hurricane or fire) and can retrieve data that they have already backed up. Things are going in a positive direction and hopefully will boom at some point this year. It is an expensive operation so they have to get investors etc...to keep things going and growing. I hope you are well today. Will check in later after the doctor calls.

Ann - February 8th, 2006 11:48 AM

Your dh's business sounds great with data sensitivity these days! I am sorry to hear af arrived. I am really frustrated with my body, too. I feel young and most people guess/assume I am 7 or 8 years younger than I am, but I feel like the insides of my body are betraying me! I am so mad at myself for not ttc sooner. Dh and I have been together for almost 7 years, so it wouldn't have been that difficult to try. But, there is nothing I can do about it now. What do you do at work? I do international tax (e.g., restructuring, mergers and acquisitions involving foreign entities, repatriation of cash)--oh so exciting I know (zzzzz). I am looking forward to your post after you talk to the dr so you will know what you will be doing next month. Being in limbo is not fun.

Tracy - February 8th, 2006 9:17 PM

Well, Ann my job is just that, a job. I used to work in TV, that was too stressful, then I started teaching elementary school, and that was too stressful, so now I work at Pottery Barn in the mall and love it. My husband says I just wasn't made to work. I think he's right. I went to school for Broadcast Journalism, so I'm a long way from that field, but I love interior design and would love to go back to school for that one day just for the hell of it. Pottery Barn just gets me out of the house and I get to do something I enjoy. Well the doc never called me back today. I'm a little miffed, but I also like him a lot and know he handled a lot of deliveries last night, so I'm trying to keep that in mind. I am going to go ahead and start my clomid tomorrow (cd3-7). I have been taking my clomid on days 5-9, so i figure I'd try something new. How are you feeling?????

Ann - February 9th, 2006 10:31 AM

Tracy, your job sounds relaxing. Working at Pottery Barn is probably a good place since you have an interior design interest. My job is super stressful and I work way too many hours, but I kind of thrive on it at times (other times I head home late and stay comatose on the couch:)). Did you hear from the dr yet today? Lauren, how are you doing? What do you do for work?

Tracy - February 9th, 2006 9:27 PM

I talked to the doctor finally today and he said to take 100 mg of clomid (instead of 50) and that he currently has no intention to put me on Glucophage for PCOS, as opposed to what his nurse practitioner told me. He said I have responded very well to clomid and that I either ovulated later than we thought or it was just an off month. WHATEVER!!!!! As far as Pottery Barn being relaxing, let me tell you something............I have had high cholesterol for about 15 years and since I quit teaching my cholesterol has gone down 53 points. I also had low blood platelet count, which has also gone back up into normal range. I quit teaching since I couldn't get PG and I was ALWAYS sick. I haven't been sick since I left, I had a check-up last week and I got a clean bill of health. Stress kills and teaching wasn't my passion, so it was sucking the life out of me. Here in Florida teaching is so demanding, and if you don't love it, then it's not for you. I'm glad you like what you do. I loved working in TV, but again, there was too much pressure, I didn't like putting myself through all that stress. Lauren, is everything good?????

Ann - February 10th, 2006 2:37 PM

Tracy, do you think you have pcos? I don't know much about it. However, since you are 35, if I were you, I would consider switching drs. I am dealing with the egg quality/ovarian reserve issues now. 6 months ago, my levels were good, but now they are slipping. I hope you can get something done asap! I agree with you--I could never be a teacher. It sounds like a job change is exactly what you needed!

Ann - February 10th, 2006 7:20 PM

As a follow up from my post earlier: I just got off the phone with my RE a short time ago. He got my cd10 blood work. He told me that my numbers are so far off that it is unlikely that I will get pg and that, even if I wanted to do ivf, he would not recommend using my eggs. I have an appt on Monday to discuss everything, but he said he would recommend trying injectibles next. I am so depressed and upset...

Tracy - February 12th, 2006 3:04 PM

Oh, Ann I hope by now you are doing a bit better. I have been so busy over the last few days that I didn't get to post and I missed your news about the phone call. Let me ask you this. What would prompt the RE to say you are not likely to get PG with your eggs. Aren't you 36???? Is there something I am missing? Can you kind-of recap your TTC history for me so I can understand why someone would say that to you. I'm only asking because I care. You did mention something previously about ovarian reserve.

Ann - February 12th, 2006 4:15 PM

Thanks. I am doing a little better--being really upset kind of comes and goes. Yeah, I am only 36, but it seems that my eggs fell off the cliff in the last 8 months. Last summer my FSH count was fine and now it is elevated and my Inhibin B is off as well, which means that my eggs are likely not good quality, have low hope of being capable of fertilization, and reserve is diminished. I had mild endo but had it removed (they think that got it all), so I was in the unexplained category. Now, I am afraid I waited too long to try to get pg (ttc for almost 2 years). Have you had the blood work where they check your FSH, Inhibin B, and Estradiol?

Tracy - February 12th, 2006 7:51 PM

Ann, I have had my FSH, LH, Progesterone, Testosterone, DHEA, and Insulin done in the mid-follicular phase of my cycle, but as far as I know, I have not had the others that you mentioned. I'll bring it up when I see him tomorrow for my HSG. I would honestly get another opinion if I were you. That's not something I would just accept from one doctor. With the miracles that occur everyday, something can be done. Keep your chin up and let me know what happens. When is AF due? I started clomid again yesterday, for my third and final cycle. I was scared to take it because last month I practically fell apart. I was soooooooooooo depressed. BUT, so far so good. This month is different already. Like the first month, I am not emotional and barely have side effects. My biggest complaint about clomid is I have gained twelve pounds, RAPIDLY!!!!!! I hate it, but the doctor assures me it's temporary. He better be right. I had to buy new pants yesterday, because I got tired of squeezing myself into everything. Big hugs....

Ann - February 12th, 2006 10:43 PM

Tracy, my af is due on Saturday. Good, I am glad they checked your fsh. That seems to be the most important part. I have been reading on the net and I think my RE's view is likely accurate. It looks like I have a less than 3% chance of getting pg and a less than 1% chance to give birth. It looks pretty hopeless for me...I am sorry the clomid throws you for such a loop. I can't feel anything when I take it. And weight gain?? I didn't even know it could do that. Is your hsg tomorrow or are you seeing your dr to schedule it?
