Wow, I can't believe how time flies sometimes. You are almost ready for your IUI???? That's amazing. Hope the numbing cream works for you!!! I saw the gyno today, and she said everything "feels" right.....no rigidity or noticeable fibroids, etc.... The RE will do my ultrasounds. Five more days until we see him. Gonna go eat dinner. GROW follies....GROW!!!!! |

Hi Ladies. Sorry to butt into your thread, but I have a question, and I was hoping you could help since you have experience with clomid. This is my first month on 50 mg of clomid. I am 17 dpo (cd 33) and I still don't have AF. I normally have a 14 day lp. I tested at 12 dpo and got a bfn. I've heard that Clomid can make your LP longer, but how much longer? I would think not more than a couple of days, right? Does anyone know or have any experience with this? I haven't tested again because I'm too scared to get another bfn. What do you all think? Could it just be the clomid that is making my lp so much longer? |

Tracy, I had an u/s this morning. I have one 14mm follie and an 11 on my right. He said there was one on my left, but he never said the size and I forgot to ask (assume it was small). I only have to take 150 Follistim tonight (plus the Lupron)--no Menopur--yea! I am going to be out of town for work from this afternoon until tomorrow afternoon (next u/s on Saturday morning). Any plans for you?? Becca, it could be the clomid or you could be pg. Just take the test and find out. 12dpo is very early, so you can't depend on a BFN from that day. The hcg could very well have been too low for the hpt to detect. Let us know what your results are! |

Becca, my cycle went from 28 days to 31 the first month I did clomid, the second month I got AF on exactly day 28 (low progesterone that month), and my third cycle AF started on cd33. The two months that AF started later, I had really high progesterone levels. Did your doctor take a day 21 blood test to check your progesterone? If not, make sure you at least get that done next cycle if you have to take clomid again. Ann, great news about the follicles! I have a party I am going to on Saturday night. Agood friend of ours got married on the fly, so is throwing a party to celebrate. Other than that, I am just working a couple hours, and working out. I am so addicted to exercise now. I sleep better, feel better, and look better. I feel strong now. Have you noticed any side effects from all those shots yet? Just checkin'. Any emotional breakdowns??? Tiredness?? Anything? Have a great day. And pop in anytime Becca, you are always welcome! |

Thanks so much for the welcome, tracy! I am really at a loss. I don't know what is going on. My cycles are not always regular. They can range anywhere from 27-35 days, but for the last 3 months I have been 28 days exactly. This was my first month on Clomid. The dr said it would regulate my cycle and boost my chances of getting pg. I had my usual pre-O spotting on cd 14, and then intense abdominal discomfort on cd 16 and then the pain was 100% gone on cd 17, which leads me to think that I O'd on cd 16. The clomid made me really dry during my fertile time, but a about 2 dpo, I started to get a ton of that creamy cm, and it hasn't gone away yet. I am 18 dpo today, with still no sign of AF. I've had some mild cramping over the past few days, but not much to speak of. My bbs are only slightly tender which is unusual for me because they are usually very very sore for a few days before AF comes. I don't know why AF wouldn't come unless I was pg or didn't O. I did another hpt this morning and it was bfn, and with all that intense pain, I can't imagine that I didn't O, but I guess it's possible. But my dr told me that since I was already Oing on my own, the clomid would just increase the chances of having better eggs. I never imagined that it would actually stop me from Oing. I have a call into my dr, and I'm waiting for him to call me back, but any thoughts would be appreciated. No, I haven't had any bloodwork done to make check my progesterone levels. My insurance doesn't cover any type of fertility treatment, so I can't see a specialist, and I don't think my dr monitors the clomid use that closely. I guess I'll have to ask him to. Thanks again! |

Becca, my insurance doesn't cover any type of infertility either, that is why I was seeing an OB for the clomid and stuff. Is it an OB who prescribed the clomid? I was covered for the day21 progesterone test. It's just a simple blood draw. So I would have that done 7dpo ( usually on cd23) and then go into the doc one week later to find out the results and get my prescription for the next cycle if needed. I would definitely ask your doctor about having that done. That shows if and how well you ovulated. As far as your BFN goes, see if the doctor has an opinion or can do a blood test. OR wait a few more days to see if AF shows. I know that's not very helpful advice, sorry. I would definitely recommend the blood test to check for pregnancy though at this point. Good luck, and let me know what the doc says. |

Thanks Tracy. The doc just called me back and he wants to do a blood test this afternoon. I'll let you know the results!!! Thanks for your help and your support. It is so helpful to have people who have people with experience with clomid giving you advice. There is only so much dh know, ya know??? Thanks again!!! |

Becca, any word from the test??? Best wishes to you...... Ann, how are you??? Did you get the IUI? |

Tracy, no I don't have any side effects, except for the puffy bloated tummy. Like I said, I am very unemotional in general, though. I had another u/s this morning, and something happened that has never happened to me before. My dominant follie shrunk or went away. This is actually good news, because that one likely would have made me trigger when I had only one or two mature follies. Now, I have 4 coming in on my right and 2 on my left. They are all slightly below 12mm, so I don't know how many will make it. I have to take more Menopur tonight and tomorrow night (SO not looking forward to that). The RE thinks I will trigger now on Wednesday. I am hoping for Thursday, so I can have iui on Saturday. Becca, good luck with your situation. I've talked to lots of people that had their af a week or so late when taking clomid. Let us know what you find out. |

Tracy, I forgot to say to have fun at your party tonight! I have another work dinner this evening. It is at a new restaurant, and they are always nice to try for free, but I could use some vegging out after just getting back in town. |

Isn't it funny how nature works sometimes? Well, it is good news that it disappeared and hopefully set you up for a good ovulation. I am dying to sneak a cookie right now, but DH would kill me and I can't do it quietly enough for him not to hear me cracking open the container!!!! He leaves all these tempting snacks around all the time and it drives me nuts. Usually it's Skittles or chocolate chip cookies! That bastard!!! Anyway, I wish I weren't so emotional, but I am, and that's why I ask how you are doing emotionally. When I was on clomid the second and third months, I was a wreck. I have two friends on another thread that are doing injectibles right now, and one has been emotional and the other has not. Go figure. Enjoy your dinner and get some couch time this weekend. I just had a short nap and it was great! |

Hi Tracy, glad your weekend is going well. Choc chip cookies are my FAVORITE. I make them at least a couple times/month. Tell dh to hide everything from you and to hide well!! I went to acupuncture today and I had a really bad headache when I got there (headache from allergies and I have not been taking my usual meds). He put some needles in the back of my neck and it is almost gone now. So cool! That is too bad that your other friend is having side effects from the meds. Hopefully they will go away once the injections stop. I think I am going to take a nap soon. I had to get up at 6:30 this morning to go to the RE, so I haven't gotten to sleep in! |

We definitely have a lot in common. I laid down because I have been having some headaches from of all things, allergies. I quit taking all of my allergy stuff in order to conceive, but end up having to take immitrex once the headache starts turning into a migraine, so I don't know what's worse......Immitrex or allergy meds. I'm stuck here in the tropics with allergies! Get some rest! |

Hi Tracy. I did take a nap, but I still had that "allergy" feeling when I got up. I am sure you know what I mean. I do think the acupuncture is helping, because even though I feel bad, I haven't take any meds. My allergies are usually so bad that I absolutely have to take something for them. I need to go clean our pool today, but I am hesitant to go outside! How are you doing? |

I wish I could do acupuncture, but right now our extra cash is going for me to see a personal trainer, which incidentally, has helped a lot. The trainer is a nutritionist, so I cleaned up my diet and get fewer headaches as a result from that. I have a lot of food sensitivities, like I am flat out allergic to dairy, can't handle any preservatives and artificial ingredients, can't eat corn......I could go on. I shop at the Whole Foods over here and it is awesome. Anyway, so with that going on, plus the out of pocket RE expenses, acupuncture is not something we can splurge on right now. DH's business grows every day, so soon watching the bank account won't be an issue, but for now........we watch what we spend. Having IVF looming doesn't seem to help though either. We have the money for one try, if we have to do another one, I don't know where the money would come from. Did you clean the pool?? I had such a horrible dream this morning that woke me up too early, so I just woke up from a nap. That dream was so real that when I woke up I was crying in my sleep. I can't explain it; it sounded silly when I told DH. He just smiled and hugged me and said how sensitive I am. Then he made the comment that maybe I should see a therapist! lol....he was just kidding. |

Do you remember what you were dreaming? That is horrible you have reactions to dairy. I could not give that up! I love cheese and mile (and of course ice cream). I cleaned the pool, but it isn't clean. Our pool cleaner needs new "feet" so it doesn't move around like it should. Dh is supposed to be taking care of the feet--will see how long that takes...I know what you mean about money and business growing. We are trying not to spend too much extra, but here I am looking at New Orleans hotels all day today. I have to go to dh's family reunion in May and plan to stop in NO on the way over. Since we are driving (dss going also), it won't be too much of an expense to stop. I need some fun time to balance out the reunion.:) Do you guys have any upcoming trips? |
