Hi ladies, I was just surfing this site and found you all here - hope it's okay if I just join in the conversation. I've been ttc #1 for 2 years (!) am 36 years old, and I'm on my first round of Clomid (50mg). I'm wondering..what days did your docs have you taking Clomid? My doc wanted me to take it Day 1-5 because he said more women became pg than those who took it days 3-7 or 5-9. Actually, a woman I know took it days 1-5 and is now pg. I didn't do 1-5 this last cycle because he wanted my FSH levels tested on Day 3 (and Clomid would interfere with that result apparently). Anyway, if I'm not pg this cycle (will know next week - I hope I am!), I plan to do the Day 1-5. What do you all think? Baby Dust and good luck to you all!!! |

Hi Monica, welcome and jump on in! My dr had me take clomid on days3-7 and 5-9, but I have also read that days1-5 may be better. Did your cd3 fsh come out ok? Did you do the clomid challenge test where they retest your fsh on cd10? Good luck that you will get a BFP this time! |

Hey Monica, welcome!!! I took clomid days 5-9, but this last cycle was told I could do it 3-7. I opted out of doing it at all this cycle since going to see new doc on Wednesday and didn't want to waste a cycle without IUI or something. I too have read that the earlier days produce more pregnancies. I would do it earlier since I know days 5-9 did not work for me. Well, going to take my niece to my mom's, I'll check back in later. |

See, Ann that is why I am switching doctors.....my doc never did the clomid challenge. He just took a day21 progesterone test to see if I ovulated. One more day until I get some answers and some sort of plan. I am on cd3 today and have awful cramps. This is not normal for me. Usually by now I am feeling great. Haven't worked out in three days due to AF and cramps.....what's up with that??? |

I wonder if it is too late to do the CCT this month, since you will be on cd4 tomorrow. It would be nice if you could jump right into it! |

Hey Ann, my appointment is at 2:00 with this new guy. I'll let you know what he says....how's the waiting going for you? Boring??? |

Where are you Tracy?? How did your appt go? Yes, my ttc life is very boring right now. I can't keep up with work and home, though, so it is good timing to not have dr visits, etc. |

hey Ann...my appointment went very well. I really like and trust this new guy. He is sharp as a tack. DH is having his sperm checked again on Monday....we may have morphology issues, so may be headed straight for ICSI and IVF. If his new analysis yields positive results, we will be doing injectibles. Monday we will know. Well, I have a migraine, so I have to lay down. I'll check in tomorrow when I am able to concentrate better. Hugs..... |

I am so glad you like the RE!! Had your dh been checked before? Will you start the injectibles next cycle if you do injectibles/iui? My dh just called and my meds arrived at home. I probably won't start them for another week, though. I don't have any online pics like you do, but I have some digital pics on my computer now. If you want to send me an email to ann8675309@hotmail.com (my email I just set up to post on the board) I will forward you a pic. |

Yeah, DH had his sperm checked in November, but this guy wants a current analysis and he wants it done in his lab so he can be absolutely certain about what we are facing. My old doctor told me DH was fine, but when I picked up my records and read through them I noticed that it said 94% severely amorphic (morphology). That does not sound good to me, but we shall see what the new test reveals and determine if they can wash and do IUI or go straight to ICSI/IVF. His overall count was great and so was motility, etc....so, I don't know. IF his sperm are OK we will probably try a cycle of injectibles or two. The doc will be doing his next round of IVF in July. He does it four times a year in groups of 25 to 30 couples, and he just did one in March/April, so we missed that boat. I'm ok with waiting till july though. I'll send you an email now. I would love to see a picture! |

Hey Tracy. I never got an email from you. Let me know if you sent it. That is unusual that your dr only does ivf 4x/year. What a good idea to manage his schedule! |

Hey, I did email you at like 1:30 this afternoon, but apparently it did not work. Should I try again?? When this doc has IVF cycles he has his teams working 24/7. I think he likes to do it in spurts because he does need time to evaluate and spend time with patients and doesn't want to be running ragged like so many doctors out there......like the one I just left. He has one office as opposed to the 4 places my old doctor was running around to all week. Mind you, he is also in a very wealthy location, so he can pretty much kick back and not kill himself to make his mortgage payments, etc... |

Hey Tracy. I just checked my email, and I didn't get anything from you. Odd! I got my meds last night. I got a bunch of Menopurs, which I am not happy about because it hurts! I also got some estradiol patches (not sure why). |

Hey, I tried emailing you again just now. I hope it works. Your doctor did not explain the reason for these meds??? I take it they are different from last cycle's??? Well, I have officially lost 7 of my 12 clomid pounds!!!! Yesterday I was down 8 pounds, but I'm kind-of constipated so I'm sure I'm a couple pounds less than the scale says. LOL:)))) I was feeling kind-of depressed this morning. I was on the stairmaster and just broke out in tears. I think I am just spent with all the TTC stuff and can't understand why this is happening to me. Not that I'm above anybody else, but really none of us deserve this when there are total idiots out there having babies that they can't even feed. I'm also feeling the impact of my career change....going from teaching to a lower paying job. It was meant to relieve stress so we could conceive, but now I am stressed because I never have enough money to just go and get what I need without having to bother DH. He always tells me to just tell him when I need money, but I have a hard time doing that.....so I struggle behind his back. I know I don't make sense. Anyway, have to get ready for work, will check in tonight. Let me know if you got the email. |

I got your email this time! Let me know if you receive mine back. Sorry that you are feeling so down today. I know exactly what you mean about it not being fair with some people who get pg that don't even really want it and/or can't take care of a baby. I was discussing that on another post just today. You have had a lot of changes in your life recently! That would drive me crazy, too, with the money thing. Hopefully soon you will be a mom! I think you will be pg before too long. If nothing else, you will have success with ivf, since there is nothing wrong with you. Congrats on the 7/8lbs!! That is great. |

Hey Ann, I did get your email. You are stunning! What a great couple you are! And is that your house or what???? That place is fabulous!! The career change sucks just because I was never in to teaching anyway, just the paycheck I was receiving. And now??? Well, to put it lightly, I think there are migrant workers who make more than I do:)))) Anyway, I am making due. My husband just gives me soooo much, that I hate asking for more. I will see what our TTC future holds when DH's sperm analysis comes back. Has your doctor given you a quote on how much IVF costs?? With my new doc it costs $15,000. I know people have paid less, but are they getting top notch care?? This guy is so highly recommended by such a variety of people, that I don't know if I should look for a lower price or stick with who I know is good. |
