I believe that therapy can be very helpful. I am 14 months into trying to conceive and I have found 2 ways to deal with my depression from going through this. One is medication. My doctor started me on Prozac. It is not harmful to a baby and makes a huge difference in your life! I am truly amazed at the difference. The second thing is to talk to people who have gone through this. I have found an infertility support group that has been helpful by just sharing information with people who truly understand what you are going through. I also find this forum has been helpful to me. It helps just knowing that I am not the only person going through this process. Hang in there and seek out help. It is during difficult times like this that support can help you get through. Good luck. |

Therapy really helped me when I had troubles conceiving. I couldn't afford a psychologist but there was a weekly meeting at a community center that I attended. Getting to actually meet and talk with pther infertile couples made such a difference. I was able to get things off my chest, see that I wasn't the only one going through this. Plus I made some friends, one who I'm realyl still close to. The fact tyhat we both went through the same thing helped us to form a bond that not many other people can understand (that's sounds really stupid, I know but it's true!). |
