Q&A | Problems getting pregnant? | ONE FALLOPIAN TUBE AND 100 MG CLOMID

Welcome, guest
Name: wantamiraclebaby Title of Question: ONE FALLOPIAN TUBE AND 100 MG CLOMID
Question: ok, I have been pregnant twice. the first was in November 2006 but m/c my beta numbers were low to begin with. the second pregnancy was in January 07, but it was an ectopic in my left tube. I didn't m/c until 3 months later, even then the fetus was still in my tubal, this was determined by a lap that was done in May of 07. the doctor surgically blocked my right tube b/c it had the hydrosalpinx. my left tube was "good" considering it had the ectopic. the doctor cleaned it out and it still had the fimbria and also a little mucosa in the tube, which is good. so i tried and nothing. oh i was on clomid both times i conceived. anyway, i got back on clomid at the beginning of July and every cycle I have about 4 mature follicles. Anyway, since I didnt conceive after that first dose of clomid (post surgery) i got a hsg and showed my left tube open and it spilled through. didn't get ku that cycle. ok, so now they got me on 100 mg clomid. I ovulate on my own, but not very strong, so what do you all think MAY happen, also who has gotten pregnant w/ one tube and on clomid? thanks.

Answer: Hi there - I had an ectopic in 2002 on my right ovary. Luckily I escaped any kind of surgery and was treated with drugs instead. I still have two tubes. However my left is blocked so I'm working with one tube from that degree. After years of ttc#2 and after several useless drs my new dr decided it was about time someone checked my dh sperm. Turns out problematic so been pulled off my clomid for now. Likely looking at IVF. Oh and I've had four recurrent m/c over three years so I guess occasionally I ovulate from the right side!

Answer: I am also interested if anyone has gotten pregnant off one tube too. I had my HSG done earlier this week, and no dye went into my right tube, which I am assuming is blocked from scar tissue from a tubal reversal. The left tube had dye go through, although the tech didnt seem quite satisfied with it. Ive yet to hear from my RE, my dh did the sa and to check if his sperm has antibodies, since he's 40 and never iniated a pregnancy. So we are just waiting to hear from RE w/her results and recommendations. We were supposed to start my first IUI, but I dont know if one tube is sufficient enough for IUI or if we may have to try IVF. Ive gotten pregnant twice, once in feb 07 and again in may 07 both m/c one at 7wks and the other 4 days after I found out i was pregnant. So anyone out there......give us some incite if you have gotten pregnant w/one tube....w/clomid or any other type of treatments. thx

Answer: Know that you are not alone. I am completely frustrated. I went in for my day 13 checkup to find that clomid did work, however, my left ovary contains the follicle and my left tube is blocked (go figure). I am completely frustrated. What in the world am I suppose to do now? The doctor said we could just try to get pregnant on our own but my situation is a "little" special. I also have PCOS AND don't know if or when the follicle will release. AND when it releases, won't it just release to my LEFT/BLOCKED OVARY? Soooooooooo let's see? I am now stuck with a follicle that isn't going to go anywhere? I put a call into RE. Can anyone help us?

Answer: wantamiracle, I went to the doctor, I also only have one tube, I had a reversal 12-06 and he prescribed me 100mg of clomid too this afternoon. Also, I have had one miscarriage in 12-07. Also, those who complain of clomid of being expensive at walmart itnis only 18.00 dollars without insurance

Answer: SHARLENE! I'm sorry for what you're going through, you may want to try injectables instead of clomid. that way it will create a lot of follicles, well more than one. I had an ectopic in December 2007 and now we are on to IVF. I am starting at the end of Feb and beginning of March is when I should be experiencing the Egg Transfer. CHRISWIFE...YES, CLOMID IS VERY INEXPENSIVE. I love that drug b/c it doesn't cost much. good luck w/ the clomid!

Answer: Hi girls- glad I found your thread. Sharlene, just to give you some hope, I work with a girl that got pg w/ 1 tube- o'ing from the wrong side! It can be done and my re said they've seen it too. See what your dr says, but I would definitely still try- it could get pulled into the other tube and get fertilized. baby dust to you!

Answer: Hi ladies, well I also just have one tube. My left tube is completely blocked but my right is good. I haven't been pregnant before but I'm confident. My mother in law lost an ovary and tube to etopic preg. and still got pregnant twice with just the one set. It's possible!!! Keep the faith girls! We'll show them. I was on clomid but recently elected to take a break from the madness. Once I decided I'm sane again I'll start back on clomid. GL to all!

Answer: Hello Ladies, Thanks for the encouragement! My RE said that I should continue with this treatment cycle as we could still get pregnant. And while during the HSG, no dye went through my left tube, she said we won't know for sure if it is blocked or if there's a little scar tissue from the surgery I had last year.... We are suppose to use the trigger shot tonight that should release the follicle within 36 hours. And then we can conduct a pregnancy test on Feb 23 (17 days after the trigger shot). So then we will see! The RE said that if I am not pregnant, I should have a period as I will start "inserting" Prometrium tablets twice a day tomorrow. I will keep the faith and keep you posted!!!! You know, I had no idea that the hot flashes would be this bad! I am having one right now and on average I have 1-2 a day!

Answer: I love it when I'm able to be a success story. My left tube is blocked. I started on clomid 100mg and got pregnant on my 2nd cycle with out IUI. Unfortuantely, this isn't a viable pregnancy. However, I am hopeful that when I'm ready to start trying again clomid with IUI will help me concieve. Wishing you luck!!

Answer: Hello Ladies, Well we will see if the test is positive tomorrow. I have my doubts but I am still encouraged. Good luck to all of you! "Talk" to you soon.

Answer: Ladies. the first cycle of clomid 50mg, did not result in a pregnancy. My 2nd cycle of Clomid 50mg. was unsuccessful too because the follicle was not mature. My husband is wanting to delay trying #3 and that has caused alot of tension in the house. Please keep us in prayer. This is a very difficult time for us.

Name: RLR | Date: March 18, 2008, 17:01
Answer: Sharlene- how are you doing? I'm praying that you and your husband can find peace about this process and go about it as a team seeking God's will and timing. Dust to you!

Answer: RLRRLR et all, I am hanging in there. Things have gotten worse between my husband and me. Therefore, I have decided to delay treatment cycle #3 because the stress alone is killing me. This indeed is a sad time because my doctors said we can’t wait. We have met with marriage/fertility counselors but my husband’s posture has not changed. We don’t even talk to each other period. I am praying that things get better. I would hate to lose my marriage and my chances of becoming pregnant. Keep us in prayer…

Answer: first of all, i wish all the ladies good luck. my situation is the same. i have lost 3 pregnancies, 1st was a stillborn at 27 weeks, 2nd was a m/c, 3rd was ectopic and it was removed by surgury. last 2 pregnancies i took merional injections and got pregnant, but after my ectopic pregnancy, i took the same injections but it didnt work so i went in for another laproscope to find out that my right tube is completly blocked and cant be fixed. now i've been trying again but this time iam taking gonal-f . but i did run some blood tests and the results where, i have high prolactin, high antithyroglobulin (that produces toxins at implantation) and now iam taking medicine to fix my problems. i want to say to all keep your hopes up and there is nothing imposible. it will work out for all at the rite time. today i was watching a program on tv and i got suprised to see that there was a pregnant man! so i didnt beleive it and decided to look it up on the internet and guess hat its true. so if a man got pregnant all ladies can no matter what the problem is as long as you find the cause of m/c and infertility. it might take time but i know that its gonna work for all. and good luck to all , i hope that all women who are having problems conceiving get pregnant soon !
