Answer: ifyou got pregnant naturally with that one, just keep trying your body may be just adjusting and going back to normal. good luck x

Name: To Kay | Date: March 3, 2005, 19:50
Answer: Keep trying, and let it be fun! I know it's hard to do, but don't let the negative results get to you.

Name: holly | Date: March 5, 2005, 17:55
Answer: If you are younger than 35, you have plenty of time. Try to have sex often on the days when you are most fertile. Your most fertile day is 14 days before your NEXT period. You can figure it from there and then add 3 days before and 2 days after (because the sperms can live up to 72 hours and eggs can live up to 48 hours in your uterus). Also, don't get up so soon after sex. Lie down at least 20 minutes. I am old (43), so we don't have much time left :). So after sex, my boyfriend would pick raise my legs in the air to make sure that his sperms stay inside me. That's pretty funny but it seemed to work. I became pregnant after 5 months of trying and we could have sex only 4 days a month (but we have sex like 2-3 times a day :o)). I visit him once a month because we live far away from each other. Stay cheerful. Good luck!!!

Name: kim j | Date: March 7, 2005, 19:21
Answer: You may want to try doing it every other day. You need to give the sperm a chance to recoop.. Good Luck and have fun!

Name: sophie | Date: July 24, 2005, 23:38
Answer: i have been trying to get pregnant for 6 months. The negative results are depressing me. I've calculated my ovulation perfectly. I lay down for hours after sex. I eat healthy. I'm taking a preconception vitamin. I'm 21. Everyone else seems to get pregnant easily, why can't i?

Name: ? | Date: July 25, 2005, 7:02
Answer: dont worry its been 13 months for me. af is due 27th hope it doesnt come.

Name: sophie | Date: July 25, 2005, 21:47
Answer: my af is due tomorrow too. I have had 4 hpt leading up to it. All negative. But i was spotting yesterday (light pink - sorry if that's too much info). I have had pain in my lower abdomen for 4-5 days now. What does this all mean? Am i reading too much into everything because i'm so desperate to conceive?

Name: brenda | Date: July 26, 2005, 1:01
Answer: this is actually a question but we have been trying to get pregnant for the last 3 weeks. my period was 2 weeks late but i still had it. can i still have my period if i am pregnant? i have had some pregnancy symptoms but i have taken 3 tests and they all show up negative. how can i tell? maybe i don't have enough HCG hormone in my urine?

Name: Carra | Date: July 26, 2005, 3:00
Answer: This will be the second month me and my husband will be trying. This time I bought an ovulation test. Try that, it will help you determine when you are going to ovulate, unless you have irregular periods, then it might be harder.

Name: D. | Date: July 26, 2005, 6:19
Answer: Don't assume you are Ovulating every 14 days. There may be plenty of issues, and your miscarriage could be an indicator of what that is. I would suggest you go to fertilityfriend.com and get yourself an account (they have free ones). Start charting your temperatures. Pay attention to the changes in your body. WIth your BBT you will be able to tell a lot about yourself. If you ovulate late or early. Also if your luteal phase (the time from when you ovulate until the day before your period starts) is long enough to support a pregnancy (anything under 12 days is too short). That is called a luteal phase defect and can be fixed. But you have to know you have the problem first. You don't mention if you miscarried early or later in your pregnancy or whether the doctor tested to find out the cause but LPD (Luteal Phase defect) is one of the most common reasons for early miscarriage. Also keep in mind that even with no issues, our chances of faling pg any given cycle is about 20-25% even at peak fertility. So, it may just take time. But you need to know when you are ovulating. I've ovulated as early as CD6 and as late as CD17, and if I hadn't been charting and using OPKs, I would never have know it. Hope this helps.

Name: D. | Date: July 26, 2005, 6:21
Answer: And I agree with Kim J. If there is a possibility that the problem is with your husband, then I would definitely stick to every other day to give the little guys a chance to increase. Too often we assume the issue is with us when the truth is that 50% of fertility issues lie with the male.

Name: Shawna | Date: July 26, 2005, 13:23
Answer: Your best bet is to do a basal body temperature chart, check your cervical mucus and have sex on or 2 days before your ovulation day. If you had sex right on time and didn't get pregnant within 3 months take your charts with you and go to the doctor. Your hormones might be out of balance. Also, they say to go to the doctor if you've been trying for a year. Good luck!

Name: Joy | Date: July 26, 2005, 15:48
Answer: I have been trying for a couple of months now, but really trying with an ovulation kit for the past 2 months. I have checked myself and have no problems to get pregnant and neither does my husband. How often should you have sex when ovulating and how many days before ovulating should you have sex? How long does it normally take to get pregnant? We really want to get pregnant, but have not had luck. I also think about it too much and that may be the cause. Last month we had intercourse every other day including two days before ovulation. Does staying in bed really work even though when I stand up nothing comes down? Any suggestions?

Name: lacey jones | Date: July 26, 2005, 21:34
Answer: we are wanting to have a baby put i dont get my period ever month, i get it like every 3 months and when i do its very painful. is there any way to get pregnant with go to the doc.

Name: Tracy | Date: July 26, 2005, 23:41
Answer: i think stress did a part in preparing for pregnant, me too try for 2 mths liao, lying with my legs up, basal body temperature every morning-fluctuate differently for 3 months, alternate day having sex, so desperate liao, feel like giving up....what other things i can do and any other reason?

Name: Tracy | Date: July 26, 2005, 23:46
Answer: i heard from someone that you can actually get some sort of jab from doctor to let the egg live longer, she try and got pregnant but still she got a miscarriage, anyone try before?

Name: D | Date: July 27, 2005, 6:09
Answer: Ladies, the best thing you can do is buy the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertilty" by Toni Wechsler. This book will absolutely explain everything that you need to know to maximize your chances at getting pregnant. At peak fertility (which means younger than 28) you best chance of getting pregnant any given cycle is 20-25%. After 27, you fertility starts to decline a little bit each year. Not drastically but a little. After 35, your fertility declines rapidly. If you are only getting your period every three months, you really, really should go see a doctor. There is obviously something wrong. If your body isn't at top condition, you may risk not being able to get pg at all or, if you do, not having an environment that will help to keep that baby where you want it to be. Please see a doctor. As for when to DTD (do the deed), because ovulation can change drastically from cycle to cycle depending on circumstance (stress, illness, change in exercise routine, etc.) you should start DTD about 5 days before you expect to O (ovulate). Doing it every day stresses my husband so we do the every other day thing. But if you can get him to do it every day, more power to both of you. But not less than every other day since most sperm only live about 48 hours (with good cervical mucus they've been known to live 5 days but you simply can't tell and it's better to be safe than sorry). The egg itself will only live 24 to 48 hours (there is nothing that is available that will keep that egg going longer. If you do IVF or IUI, they can control the growth of the egss, but they can't make eggs live longer than their norm just yet). And don't stop until you are SURE you have O'd. That's where the charting comes in. It will tell you just when you ovulated, and then you can take a break. But there is simply no easy pill to help us get pregnant. You have to be willing to work at getting to know your body. If you don't know what is going on or are assuming that what is considered "Normal" is what applies to you (like the fallacy that we all O two weeks after our periods and all have 28 day cycles) you may wind up being really disappointed because for some of us, getting pregnant simply isn't easy. I've been at it for 4 years. It's definitely not been easy. Tracy, you said you do your BBT, and that it fluctuated a great deal the last three months. Did you ovulate? Very erratic temperatures before ovuation, with no visible ovulation, may mean you've had an anovulatory cycle. There's so much you need to understand to figure out if something is wrong. Are you ovulating? Is your cervial mucus fertile? Do you have enough progesterone/estrogen? How's your thyroid? So much!! If you are under 35, and have been trying for a year, you need to see a doctor. IF you are over 35, give it 6 months, and then go see a doctor. I think I answered everyone's questions. I hope at least some of this helps.

Answer: I have been trying to get pregnat for the past 4 years without sucess, we have carried out many fertility tests and they all say no problem.................kindly help...

Name: KellyN | Date: July 27, 2005, 8:51
Answer: Fun, here's one suggestion I found... I read in a couple of places on the internet that people without any problems, who were mysteriously not able to concieve should try changing their diet and eat organic. I'm guessing this is something like DDT did to the eagle population, where it caused the egg shells to be too thin to support the chicks. Non-organic foods contain preservatives, fruits and vegies may have pesticides and herbicides adsorbed in them. There was some lady who wrote a book (forget the name) who was not able to concieve for 5 years for no reason. She went to an all-organic diet, and got fantastic results. I also read an article on the internet from some woman (and MD) who said that her gyno told her she would never have kids because of some condition in her ovaries. She says she went organic, and has had two kids. I'm trying to eat more organic things in my diet, but it sure it hard! Good luck to you!!! -kelly

Name: D. | Date: July 27, 2005, 9:36
Answer: kelly's onto something. There's a book called The Infertility Cure and in it the author states that there are certain foods we should or should not eat depending on what our problem is. It's a great book. If you are dealing with unexplained infertility (sounds like you are) and you don't want to pursue ART, I would think this might be of interest to you. I do acupuncture and herbs to help me with mine.

Answer: how to get pregnant

Name: ANA | Date: September 2, 2005, 22:32
Answer: I had been trying to get pregnant for 1 year and six months without success. I went to the fertility specialist, but their prices were just too high for me ($3,000 US DOLLARS per month, no guarantees). I decided to do some research and took the following herbs: 1. FEM RESTORE (herbs in liquid form. Dark brown bottle with green letters. Found in any good health food store). Nasty taste, but worth the suffering. 2. Crystal Start Female Harmony: 4 pills per day. 3. Deluxe Evening Primrose Oil: 4 pills per day. I took these herbs for about 1 1/2 months. I started with the beginning of my period and took until the next periods (irregular periods). Then I took VITEX (another nasty tasting herb) just for a few weeks and now I am 2 months pregnant! I just saw my baby’s heartbeat yesterday. Please write me to anaclaudiariofl@msn.com if you have any questions. I wish you the best of luck. Put a little of God on this mix too and you will have a winning bet. Regards, Ana C. Rowling

Name: kym | Date: September 10, 2005, 10:19
Answer: at the begining of this year i miss 4 periods and every test i took showed up negative. and when i received my period in april both me and my partner was heart broken, as both of us was looking forward to a baby even though we wasnt planning on it. and we agreed that i would stop birth control, and try for a baby, but now its been nearly 5 months and nothing has happened. i feel it is my fault as i aborted a child when i was 13 as i was raped, could this effect our chances of a baby now? and if not what would improve our chances?

Name: TC | Date: September 11, 2005, 9:29
Answer: Kym- If you have not had a period for 4 months, it sounds like you need to find out why that is happening. You may not be ovulating, then the lining gets so thick it finally sheds. I would see a dr. I do not believe that your abortion would have any effect on ttc. If you had multiple ones, maybe. Please see a dr. It can be so depressing to try for long periods of time. Best to find out what is going on.

Name: Indie | Date: September 25, 2005, 3:16
Answer: Here are a few suggestions on helping nature along... 1. Don't stress...stress can mess with your ovulations go all wonky...so get loads of sleep, eat right, try not to count the seconds until fertility window and obsess over getting preggers (I know, easier said than done) and stay fit and lead a healthy lifestyle.....2. Learn to know your body and its signs. BBT monitoring and such are helpful if you watch them for several months and figure out the pattern. If you have a regular cycle and predictable signs of ovulation this will increase your odds but we can't all be that lucky...3. Have amazing sex. A really strong orgasm and simultaneous orgasms help to increase the sperms ability to enter the uterus quickly and in large numbers....4. Try some robitussin. CM is a barrier to sperm and robitussion works on it the same way it works on your congestion when you have a cold (it thins it out), so a dose of robitussin for a few days could help...stay hydrated and drink lots of water...works on similar principles...5. Remain lying down postcoitus to keep gravity working in your favour...6. Try having sex every other day or every 2 days rather than daily and start "trying" a few days before your most fertile time and a few days after. Sperm can live 2-3 days once released and the egg lives only an average of 12-36 hours, plus your partner needs time to recover. If he's shooting blanks, it does you no good and if you are feeling pressured to HAVE TO have sex then that could make it not as much fun ;-) Anyway, prolly all old info to everyone, but thought I'd share. Murphy's law tends to come into play as well, so just make things completely inconvenient and the worst possible timing for gtting pregnant (e.g. lose your job, plan a cruise around the world, blow up your house), so the REAL trick is to make your life incompatible for having kids, or start the process for adopting, and you'll get pregnant straight away!

Answer: Maybe you trying too hard. Dont want it too happen so badly. I am sure it will happen. Stress is not good. Thanks

Answer: I wish they develop some kind of home fridge we can keep our sperm frozen..then near/on ovulation day can unfreeze them and inject them near cervix..as much as possible to increase the chance of pregnancy..

Name: a bit of levity | Date: October 2, 2005, 13:14
Answer: Please refrain from calling others loosers when it seems that they are just trying to bring some levity to an already stressful situation. A bit of humor never hurt anyone. We could all use a goodlaugh to release some of our anxieties and stresses. Laughter actually helps release toxins and makes you feel better. Keep doing what you are doing, temp, chart and take OPKs for 6 months. If you see a pattern of not ovulating, than go to an RE to get tests done for both yu and your hubby. Good luck!

Name: Jamie | Date: October 4, 2005, 16:11
Answer: The best time to have sex is in the am when your husbands sperm count is higher. I've heard to limit sex around ovulation to make sure sperm count is higher, but it's hard because you may only be fertile 12 hours a month! Good luck to all and baby dust!

Name: mel | Date: October 4, 2005, 20:38
Answer: Your body may be just getting back into regularity I also had a m/c 3 months ago. I'm pretty sure that's what my doctor told me... you might also want to eat and drink healthy for preconception

Name: jayton | Date: January 25, 2008, 12:31
Answer: clomid is a fertility drug it's supposed to help with ovulation ,im trying it now,but there are success stories,i think it works ,check out some other threads on here.

Name: Lissa_ | Date: January 27, 2008, 15:43
Answer: I have to agree with others here (despite it not being an overly popular thing to say) - there is NO fast way of getting pregnant. Clomid does work for some people but it generally depends on what else they have going on gynae and reproductive health wise also of course on dh's sperm condition. I wouldn't recommend Clomid without a dr's advice as it can rarely cause hyperstimulation and large cysts and you certainly wouldn't want one to burst and infect your organs thus cancelling out any chance at all of a pg. Its not mentioned on here but seen it listed often so for the record taking baby aspirin without a dr's suggestion is very dangerous from the point of view that it thins blood and if you don't actually need your blood thinned then it causes m/c. Personally I have been ttc for 5 years and have PCOS, Endometriosis, one ovary not working due to ectopic pg, 3 early m/c, one tube completely blocked at entrance by a polyp and the other partly blocked, a blood clotting disorder which causes late m/c and stillbirth and recurrent pre-cancer of the womb which means I need to get pg quick...... so believe you me if there was a magic fast way to acheive it then one of the three hospitals dealing with the different aspects of my ttc issues would have informed me of it by now!!!! I do wish everyone the best of luck with ttc. Do try not to let it stress you out too much as quite often when people relax thats when they conceive. I realise that that's easier said than done! ;-)

Answer: Hi Kay, i am in the same boat as you. I am using Tang kuei from herbal life, has anyone heard of this and will it help me??

Name: jeanette84 | Date: January 17, 2009, 15:19
Answer: what i have found and this is the best advice i can give to anyone. if you are thinking and worringabout it all or most of the time, you can have a reverse desired result of getting pregnant. many women have stopped thinking about it and with a few months was pregnant, after spending a year or so trying before hand. Don't worry too much and enjoy having sex with each other and try not to make it just soley trying to have a child

Name: Jen30 | Date: January 17, 2009, 15:24
Answer: You should not have sex every day as dh will end up firing blanks.. you should have sex every 2-3 days even when you are not fertile... if he goes too long without 'emptying the barrel' then the sperm which do come out wont be very good because they have been there for a while...so make sure he orgasms atleast once or twice a week through out your cycle. This is the rule which is used for clinic donors... they donate twice a week and do not ejaculate inbetween because 2-3 days is ample time for sperm to get their numbers back up.
